In December 2007 I graduated
from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. During my undergrad, I was involved a lot in my engineering fraternity Theta Tau, including being the former vice president. Since then I’m also a current member of the American Society of Civil Engineers where we do activities such as the ASCE Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge Competition.
In April 2007, I passed my fundamentals of engineering exam and I’m now an EIT (Engineer in Training). This is the first step in becoming a PE (Professional Engineer). I hope to be fully licensed in the next 3 years.
Currently, I’m attending Lawrence Technological
University for a Masters in Civil Engineering focusing primarily on Structural Engineering. While being here, I was invited to become a member of Chi Epsilon which is a National Civil Engineering Honor Society. I graduate in December 2009 at which time I hope to pursue my career in Civil Engineering.
In my free time I like to play
croquet,
disc golf,
watch movies, play scrabble, and especially love to
cook. I started cooking my sophomore year in college at Western Michigan University. My family went through advanced cooking classes every other weekend during summer 2005, which really advanced my skills to a level beyond the typical college student. I’m really into grilling during the summer. When I grill, I use a smoker which utilizes different types of wood you smoke in it for a different flavor in the meat. A few of my favorite foods are cheese fondue, sushi, and veal scaloppine.
I’m currently engaged to my fiancée Lauren. We have known each other for quite some time now. We met at Western Michigan University in 2005. We are getting married September 18th, 2010 and are both very excited.
