Croquet

In the summer time my whole family gets together and we play croquet.  Croquet is a lawn game, played both as a recreational pastime and as a competitive sport, which involves hitting wooden or plastic balls with a mallet through hoops embedded into the grass playing court.  We play it on a professional level and a few things are a little different than how most people play.  For instance, the grass is a special breed of bent grass mowed to 5/16”.  The wickets also are a lot harder to make since they only have a 3/16” threshold with the ball.  Each member of the family has their own mallet with a unique type of wood.  Night time games are also common in this family with flood lights being used.  Each year we have tournaments and seedings to determine who the best is.
